This comes after a blitz inspection was conducted in the Kokstad and Harding
areas last year, where almost all workplaces were combed by labour inspectors
to increase compliance with labour legislation.
Bambanani General Dealer, West True Shop and Bitline Spiros were all found
not to be complying with the basic conditions of employment and continued to
disregard labour inspector's efforts to enforce the law.
Should the companies fail to adhere to the court order, the Sheriff of Court
will then be engaged to attach assets after which the proceeds of the sale
thereof will be paid to the workers.
