Premier Ebrahim Rasool will on Friday, 17 August 2007, launch the Western
Cape Children's Rights Advisory Council as part of government's efforts to
protect the rights of children and advance their interests.
The Advisory Council is composed of representatives from various government
departments, municipalities and organs of civil society. The Premier has
previously expressed deep concern about the murder and abuse of children and
will address this issue at the launch of the provincial Children's Rights
Advisory Council.
