DWYPD to host Webinar on National Mental Health Policy to commemorate National Mental Healthcare Awareness Month

The Department of Women Youth and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD) in partnership with the South African Federation for Mental Health (SAFMH) will host a webinar on the 17th October 2023 to commemorate National Mental Healthcare Awareness Month. October is Mental Healthcare Awareness Month, in order to create public awareness on mental health.
The theme of 2023's World Mental Health Day set by the World Federation for Mental Health, is 'Mental health is a universal human right', with the South African Federation for Mental Health theme for South Africa as “Universal mental health coverage in South Africa”.

The webinar will unpack the current mental health policy and conduct a dialogue and conversation on the services of government as prescribed by the policy and legislation on mental healthcare and psycho-socio interventions. The South African Federation for Mental Health will partner with the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, to execute a roll-out plan on mental healthcare services in the country.
