Bidders’ conference in respect of bid window 1 under the Energy Storage Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (ESIPPPP)
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) and the Independent Power Producers Office (IPPO) will host a virtual Bidders Conference in respect of Bid Window 1 under the Energy Storage Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme on Wednesday 10 May 2023.
DMRE launched the Request for Proposals (RFP) in respect of the first bid window under the Energy Storage Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (ESIPPPP Bid Window 1) on 7 March 2023.
The ESIPPPP Bid Window 1 is the first Energy Storage bidding round to be released in line with the Ministerial Determination of 25 September 2020, and calls for the procurement of up to 513 megawatts (MW) from energy storage projects. The projects procured under this bid window will be required to reach commercial operation by 2024.
The Bidders Conference will allow bidders and other stakeholders to engage with members of the DMRE and IPP Office on queries or clarification questions in relation to the released RFP. This is an important milestone in the IPPP Programme.
