Premier Sihle Zikalala receives consignment of protective clothing from China in fight against Coronavirus, 26 Mar

The Chinese Embassy is lending a helping hand to the KwaZulu-Natal government in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

Tomorrow, 26 March 2020, KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala will receive a consignment of protective clothing, especially masks, from the Chinese Embassy which have been donated to curb the spread of Covid-19.

China, the epicentre of Covid-19, is one of the countries that have made huge strides in fighting the virus to a level where they are beginning to record a zero infection rate.

The donation is in solidarity with the South African government and the people of KwaZulu-Natal.

This donation will provide the necessary support as the country begins the national lockdown from midnight tomorrow to contain the rapid spread of the virus.

The donation of these masks will take place at a Chinese masks manufacturing factory at 23 Cypress Drive in Redhill, Durban North, at 10h00.

After this event, Premier Zikalala will embark on a cleaning campaign at the Cato Crest informal settlement at 11h00 which will start at the Cato Crest Community Hall.

Members of the media are invited to cover both the donation of protective clothing and cleaning campaign.
