DWS to host the National South African Youth Water Prize Competition
Members of the media are invited to attend the annual South Africa Youth Water Prize (SAYWP) competition which is aimed at encouraging Grade 10 and 11 learners from across the country to come up with science & technology-based projects to address water challenges in their communities.
The competition will be hosted by the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) in conjunction with the Stockholm Water Foundation on Friday, 27 May 2022 in Kempton Park.
Learners vying to win are expected to identify a water related problem, take actions and recommend solutions. The competition began at provincial level, proceeds to national level and the national winner will represent South Africa in the Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) in Sweden to compete with learners from 30 countries.
