DWS in Gauteng to conduct handwashing campaign in support of healthy living
The Gauteng Provincial Office of the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) in partnership with Dettol, Mogale City Environmental Health and Mnothweni NGO will conduct a Handwashing Campaign to educate the learners about the dangers associated with unhygienic practices.
The campaign pays special attention on promoting proper handwashing and hygiene, as inadequate and unhygienic practices are ranked as one of the leading causes of deaths globally.
Amongst the worst affected groups are children under the age of five who are losing lives every day as a result of their parents not practicing hygiene and thus exposing them to diseases such as diarrhoea.
