Premier  Ntombela and Education MEC Tate Makgoe to update the media on schools reopening

The Premier of the Free State, Sisi Ntombela and the MEC for Education, Tate Makgoe will on Thursday, 4 June 2020, brief the media on the phased in re-opening of schools in the province.  They will be joined by Free State MEC for Health, Montseng Tsiu and MEC for Social Development, Mamiki Qabathe, who will also provide updates in their areas of work aligned to Education.

Essentially, the briefing will focus on the nine (9) critical areas of Education that were considered before the resumption of face-to-face learning and teaching. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Staffing and Curriculum; 
  • asic sanitizing and hygiene;
  • nfrastructure;
  • Scholar Transport;
  • Orientation for staff and learners;
  • School Nutrition Programme;
  • Communicating with all relevant stakeholders during the COVID-19 pandemic;
  • Psychosocial Services; and,
  • School Governing Body Support.

The briefing is scheduled as follows:

Date: Thursday, 4 June 2020
Venue:  Tsoseletso Secondary School, Bloemfontein
Time: 9h30 for 10h00

Seating space is limited, in adherence to current COVID-19 regulations set out  by Government.
