Small Claims Courts are a vital part of improving access to justice, especially to the poor. These courts usually sit after hours and Commissioners assist on a voluntary basis, without any compensation. Commissioners are private legal practitioners, magistrates or legal academics.
The Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr John Jeffery, MP, will be attending a training event and workshop for KZN’s Small Claims Court Commissioners in Durban on Saturday, 23 February 2019.
He will also be making important announcements regarding the latest developments around Small Claims Courts in our country.
