Road Traffic Management Corporation warns public about traffic trainee scam

The Road Traffic Management Corporation would like to warn members of the public about a scam which is targeting young people seeking training opportunities as traffic officers.

The RTMC is aware of a fake message doing rounds on social media inviting unsuspecting applicants to sign a contract in order to join the Corporation’s traffic training college.

The message in circulation invites applicants to sign their contract with the RTMC at an address on Main Road, Loveday in Johannesburg at the Metropolitan building. The subject heading of the message is “Approval Letter and Induction Invitation”.

We wish to further advice members of the public to report such scams to law enforcement agencies. It is common cause that, these fake messages require people to make payments in order to commence with work.

As a public institution we do not charge applicants for any employment opportunities within the organisation.

Employment opportunities within the RTMC are advertised on our official website (www.rtmc.co.za) or through reputable newspapers.

Members of the public who wish to verify the legitimacy of any message purported to be from the RTMC can contact our Human Capital Department on (012) 999 5200.
