The Presidency’s Advisory Panel on Land Reform holds colloquium on Land Reform and Agriculture, 7 to 8 Dec

The Expert Advisory Panel on Land Reform will hold a two-day Colloquium on Land Reform and Agriculture under the theme “Unpacking Land Issues for Inclusive and Sustainable Reform” from 07-08 December 2018 at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg.

The two-day colloquium will enable strategic engagement on emerging policy proposals that will address issues land acquisition, expropriation, compensation, beneficiary selection, forms of tenure, models of agricultural land reform, human settlements, social and economic aspects of land reform, migration, climate change and enabling infrastructure. The focus extends to addressing spatial inequality in both urban and rural contexts.

The Expert Advisory Panel on Land Reform was appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa to provide independent advice to the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) comprising 11 Ministers and chaired by Deputy President Mabuza. The 10- member Panel includes farmers, lawyers, agricultural economists and academics.
