Once again the brightest stars are shining in Limpopo. This as Sekhukhune United Football Club gains promotion to the DStv Premier Soccer League. The promotion of Sekhukhune United F.C was confirmed today by management of DStv PSL following a court challenge by both Polokwane City F.C and TS Sporting.
It is therefore against the above mentioned background that, Limpopo Premier Chupu Stanley Mathabatha joins millions of soccer loving Limpopians across the country in extending best wishes to the club.
"On behalf of the Limpopo Provincial Government, we take this opportunity to wish the club well as they will be competing in the senior league during the next season. For us the promotion of Sekhukhune United F.C is a big achievement for the province. Through this achievement we are anticipating sport tourism, social cohesion and economic spin-off. We are also optimistic that young people of our province will be motivated to work hard and achieve their ambitions in sports particularly soccer" says Premier Mathabatha.
The Premier also thanked the leadership of Polokwane F.C for having represented Limpopo well in the senior league and calls upon the management of the team to work very hard to earn back their lost status in the DStv PSL. The same message is also extended to Black Leopards F.C, which also got relegated to the Glad Africa Championship.
