Premier Sihle Zikalala leads celebrations marking 160 years since the arrival of Indian indentured workers in South Africa, 16 Nov

Tomorrow, 16th of November is a significant day in the history of South Africa as it marks the arrival of the Indian community in South Africa.

KwaZulu-Natal Premier will, tomorrow on Monday 16 November 2020, be part of the celebrations marking 160 years since the arrival of the first indentured Indian workers in South Africa.

The event, organised by the 1860 Heritage Centre in partnership with the KZN provincial government, will kick off at 9h00am, with a multi-faith prayer at the 1860 Commemorative Monument Site on the Durban beachfront.

Thereafter, the Premier and guests will move to the 1860 Heritage Centre on 1 Derby Street, for a formal programme and media briefing.
