Premier Job Mokgoro delivers 2021 North West State of the Province Address, 25 Feb

Stage set for North West State of the Province Address – SOPA 2021

The North West Premier, Prof Tebogo Job Mokgoro will on Thursday, 25 February 2021 at 10h00, deliver the State of the Province Address (SOPA) at the official opening of the North West Provincial Legislature Chamber in Mahikeng. The sitting will be presided over by the Speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature, Hon. Susanna Dantjie.

The SOPA will be in line with Alert Level 3 Covid-19 Lockdown regulations, with not more than 50 people including Members of the Provincial Legislature, the Judiciary and Members of the Executive expected to physically be inside the Chamber on the day of the sitting, with other guests attending virtually.

For this year, there will not be any ceremonial guard of honour by the South African Police Service, a praise singer, and all other ceremonial activities that characterise the SOPA.

In his address, Premier Mokgoro is expected to highlight the provincial government’s efforts to intensify the delivery of basic services, as well as initiatives aimed at strengthening the province’s social and economic infrastructure projects, this at the backdrop of the impact of the pandemic on all sectors of the economy and the lives of the people of the North West Province.

The SOPA will be broadcast on various media platforms to enable members of the public to follow the proceedings.

This year’s SOPA is themed “Following up on our commitments: making your future work better”.
