The Year 2021 is dedicated to the life of the heroine, Mme Charlotte Mannya Maxeke, daughter of Limpopo Province, Botlokwa. The 2021 celebration will be held under the theme: “The Year of Charlotte Maxeke: Celebrating South Africa’s Intangible Cultural Heritage”.

"Government calls on all sectors to use our liberation heritage as a vehicle to foster social cohesion, nation building, economic development, and inclusive citizenship. Limpopo Province prides itself with rich cultural diversity and beautiful landscape", says Premier Chupu Stanley Mathabatha.

"The liberation heritage was forged in the theatre of struggle that shaped the new South Africa and can be actively used to contribute to the revival of social and political consciousness in our country. I also implore all to rise and put a stop to the surge of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide that continue to tear down our Province and country at large, it's not our culture", further says Premier Mathabatha.
