Treasury hosts pre-World Economic Forum Breakfast, 16 Jan

Media are invited to attend a pre-World Economic Forum (WEF) breakfast on 16 January 2020. The meeting serves as a preparatory engagement for Team SA ahead of their departure to Davos, Switzerland, for WEF’s 50th annual meeting.  The breakfast will be led by the Minister of Finance, Tito Mboweni, and will comprise of government Ministers and SA business leaders.

The pre-WEF breakfast allows government and business to engage on the South Africa message they wish to take to Davos. The 2020 WEF Davos annual meeting will be convened under the theme: “Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World”, and will run between the 21st and 24th of January. The Minister of Finance, Tito Mboweni; Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Naledi Pandor; and Minister of Trade and Industry, Ebrahim Patel, are scheduled to represent the South African government at the WEF Davos meeting.

Venue: Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosebank, Johannesburg  
Date: 16 January 2020  
Registration & Set-up Time: 07:00 (The breakfast will take place from 08:00 – 10:00)  
 
NB: Media will be allowed to sit through the entire proceedings.

Those interested must RSVP to Jabulane.Mulambo@treasury.gov.za, on or before Wednesday, 15th January 2020, Time: 12h00 midday.

Media is also advised to come earlier as per above for registration and set-up to avoid disrupting the proceedings.

Those who desire to broadcast live must indicate so on their RSVP requests so that logistical arrangements can be made for broadcasting panel vans.
