Premier Mokgoro to award best performers at the Phuthuma Awards
Premier of the North West Province, Professor Job Mokgoro will be accompanied by Health MEC Madoda Sambatha, other health sector organizations and key stakeholders to awards best performing facilities. These awards known as the Phuthuma Awards are part of government’s way of encouraging Health Departments across the country to fast-track implementation of a 10-point programme which guides the country in improving the healthcare system. Phuthuma which means “hurry” conveys the sense of urgency associated with achieving 90-90-90 targets for HIV testing and treatment. The awards are also aligned to best performing facilities in terms of Ideal Clinic realization programme.
The 10-Point Plan programme also serves as a road map towards improving the overall healthcare system and increasing access to health care while fighting the burden of disease.
