Parliament holds Hybrid Plenary Sitting, 23 Feb

NA to consider committee report on the appointment of NYDA Board members

The National Assembly (NA) will, during its hybrid plenary sitting tomorrow, consider the Report of the Portfolio Committee on Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities on the appointment of the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) Board members.

The process to nominate and recommend seven candidates for appointment to serve on the Board of the NYDA kick-started last year. In September, when the report was tabled in the National Assembly (NA) the House resolved to send it back to the Portfolio Committee on Women, Youth and People with Disabilities for further consideration.

Furthermore, the sitting will debate a matter of public importance: The roll-out of a COVID-19 vaccination plan for South Africa, which will be led by the Chief Whip of the Opposition, Ms Natasha Mazzone.

This debate will be followed by a consideration of seven Budgetary Review and Recommendation Reports (BRRR) of the Portfolio Committees (PC) on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, PC on International Relations and Cooperation, PC on Health, PC on Sport, Arts and Culture on performance of the Department of Arts and Culture for 2019/20 financial year, Standing Committee on Finance, PC on Environment, Forestry and Fisheries on Department of Environmental Affairs and entities.

Details of the hybrid sitting are as follows:
