Presiding Officers of Parliament extend condolences to Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi on the passing of Princess Irene Buthelezi
The Presiding Officers of Parliament, led by the National Assembly Speaker Ms Baleka Mbete and the National Council of Provinces Ms Thandi Modise, extend their heartfelt condolences to Inkatha Freedom Party President Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi and family on the passing away of his wife of 67 years, Princess Irene Audrey Thandekile Buthelezi.
Princess Buthelezi was one of the strongest and courageous women in our country, a leader in her own right, an activist and a passionate campaigner for the rights of women. For many years, she served as a pillar of strength for her lifelong partner and friend, Prince Buthelezi, and to the entire Buthelezi family.
The Presiding Officers are saddened by this loss and wish Prince Buthelezi and the family strength during this difficult time.
