North West Legislature hosts People with Disability Sectoral Parliament, 16 Nov

North West Legislature to host the People with Disability Sectoral Parliament in Potchefstroom  

On Friday, 16 November 2018, the North West Provincial Legislature, will host the People with Disability Sectoral Parliament under the theme “Celebrating the Centenary and Legacy of Mama Sisulu: A Disability-inclusive, Barrier Free South Africa by 2030 – Be The Legacy” in Bonquet Hall in Potchefstroom (JB Marks Local Municipality) at 10h00.

Participants from the Provincial Disability Forum (PDF), the Departmental and Municipal Focal Persons and the Office on the Status of People with Disabilities will debate the following topics:

  • My Right to Play, Learn, Work and Contribute to my Community where I choose to Live.
  • Persons with Disabilities as Contributions to the Economic Growth of South Africa.
  • Gender-Based Violence causes Disability.

Other stakeholders who will attend the event are representatives from the South African National Council for the Blind; government departments and other relevant stakeholders.
