Provincial Official Funeral for the late MEC Kegakilwe
The late MEC for North West Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs Mr Mothibedi Gordon Kegakilwe will be accorded a Provincial Official Funeral Category 1, and will be laid to rest tomorrow, Friday, 10 July at Vryburg. MEC Kegakilwe succumbed to COVID-19 on Monday at a healthy facility in Klerksdorp.
The President of the Republic of South Africa has also instructed that the National Flag fly at half-mast in the North West Province from today until the evening of the funeral of MEC Kegakilwe, this as a sign of respect to him.
The funeral service will comply with the COVID-19 Lockdown Regulations, and applicable health protocols will be observed.
The funeral service will be broadcast on different media platforms including a live streaming on the Office of the Premier Facebook page from 07h00, this to ensure that South African citizens become part of the service.
