South African National Defence Force members confiscate dagga and illegal fire arms

During the early hours of Wednesday morning, 09 September 2020, the South African National Defence Force members deployed along KwaZulu-Natal’s international border with Lesotho conducted cordon and search operations with Upper Tugela South African Police Service in eMaswazini area.

During the operation, the members inspected an abandoned residence and discovered 1x rifle (rusted) with 4x live rounds and 300kg dagga with an estimated street value R39 000 000.00.

In another incident a suspect was arrested after he was found in possession of 2x 9mm pistols and 1x magazine with 31 live rounds.
