Mpumalanga Social Development on closure of Delmas District office due to Coronavirus COVID-19 case

Department of Social Development Delmas District Offices temporally closed after official tested positive for Corona Virus

The Department of Social Development Delmas’ offices have temporally been closed.

This comes after an official working in that office tested positive for corona virus on the 08th July 2020 which has led to the other twenty-two staff members to be advised go for self-quarantine. An additional two other officials have been found to be symptomatic and have arranged for testing. The Department of Health through its tracers are tracing the other ones who may have been in contact with her to ensure that they are tested for corona virus

The official is currently on self-isolation, and the process of decontamination of the Department of Social Development Delmas Offices in Victor Khanye will begin very soon while the offices will remain temporally closed for the next 24 hours.

The department wishes to take this opportunity to wish the identified official a speedy recovery while in self-isolation and remains committed to provide the necessary support to all our officials that may find themselves in this situation. We urge all our officials who may have had contact with the official to come forward.

We continue to urge all our officials to adhere to the COVID 19 protocols in order to reduce the spread of this pandemic.
