Minister Zweli Mkhize hosts religious leaders for cooperation on rebuilding municipalities

The Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister, Dr Zweli Mkhize will tomorrow, 23 November, host the Leadership of the National Interfaith Council of South Africa (NICSA) to discuss collaboration mechanisms between NICSA and the Ministry on departmental projects.

In particular, the purpose of the meeting is to strengthening partnership between NICSA and COGTA on the implementation of the Municipal Recovery Plan (MRP) and a Programme on the Promotion and Protection of Human rights within communities.

The MRP is designed to turn around distressed and dysfunctional municipalities and to build better communities. The project on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights within Communities is intended to promote and protect the rights of vulnerable groups in society and to eliminate violence and abuse of women and children.
