Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) Minister Zweli Mkhize will deliver a keynote address at the Disaster Risk Reduction 2018 Conference on Wednesday September 19 starting at 9h30.
The conference which is taking place at the aha Kopanong Hotel and Conference Centre in Benoni on 19-20 September 2018 brings together disaster management professionals and policy makers from across Africa.
The conference is the biggest of its kind in the continent and is hosted by the Disaster Management Institute of Southern Africa (DMISA) and supported by the CoGTA’s National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC).
The key focus will be on how people influence future risk and the mobilisation of future-ready resilience that reduces risk and the impact of disasters. It will also consider the reduction of direct economic losses as a result of disasters.
