Minister Nathi Mthethwa to visit the Igoda Designer Incubator at Sandton City

The department of Sport, Arts and Culture invites members of the media to the iGoda Incubator Minister’s walkabout.

IGoda Incubator is a programme of The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture that provides funding for designers to be placed in the incubation programme, allowing them to further their skill and access the market.

The programme is fully accredited by Clothing and Textile Sector Education (FP&M SETA) and Quality Council for Trades and Occupation QCTO, in compliance with the South African Qualifications authority.

The programme further seeks to provide a conducive environment for fashion designers and Clothing Manufacturing SMMEs to gain technical and business skills. The programme also has a signed consignment agreement with Retailability (Pty) Ltd trading as EDGARS for the sale of their Designer Products which are shelved at the following shopping malls in South Africa:

  • Edgars - Sandton City Gauteng Province. (Launched 21 March 2022)
  • Edgars - Gateway Mall KwaZulu Natal (Launched 01 May 2022)
  • Edgars - Mall of Africa Gauteng Province (Launched 01 June 2022)
  • Edgars - Menlyn Gauteng Province (Launched 01 September 2022)
  • Edgars - Canal Walk Western Cape (Launched in August 2022)
  • Edgards – The Pavilion Shopping Centre (Launched in February 2022)
