Minister Mbalula leads a hoot for life Arrive Alive campaign

The Minister of Transport, Mr Fikile Mbalula will lead a Road Safety Awareness Campaign from Soweto to Soshanguve on an Open Bus in Gauteng.

Joined by the Provincial and Metro Police Law Enforcement Officers, the Minister will engage South Africans at different stops on route from Soweto to Tshwane.

The Minister will make a first stop at Maponya Mall engaging drivers, passengers and pedestrians on Road Safety Awareness.

Minister Mbalula calls on all South Africans to join in solidarity the awareness campaign by Hooting for Life Arrive Alive at 12:00 Midday when the initiative is set to begin and everyday at 12:00 until the 31st of December 2020.

By hooting at Midday, South Africans will show their support for road safety and encourage responsible driving.

This campaign forms part of the intensified 365-days, “Waya-Waya” Arrive Alive National Road Safety Campaign.

Amongst the main pillars of the intensified Road Safety campaign for the Festive Season period are:

  • “No drinking and driving”,
  • “Always buckling up”,
  • “Promotion of daytime driving”,
  • “Vehicle roadworthiness”, and
  • “Pedestrian visibility”
