Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Maite Nkoana-Mashabane will today, 20 June 2022 attend the COSATU National Gender Conference to provide an update on the work the department is doing on Women Empowerment, Gender Equality, Gender Based Violence and Femicide and other relevant issues for trade union consideration.
The conference aims to asses and review the work of the federation in the past years on promoting women emancipation and gender equality in the World of Work, trade unions, federation including society as a whole. The conference takes place at a crucial time when South Africa has been earmarked as one of the highest societies with high levels of inequalities in the world.
