The Minister of Social Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu, will on Wednesday, 23 September 2020, brief members of the media on the department’s social relief measures to mitigate the impact of COVID-19.
During the briefing, Minister Zulu, together with the CEOs of SASSA and NDA, Ms Totsie Memela and Ms Thamo Mzobe, will give updates on the implementation of the Special COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant, status on transfer of payments to Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs), food relief, prevention and control measures at the department’s facilities - including residential care facilities for older persons, amongst others.
