Minister Mantashe to officially open a Community Healthcare Centre in Middleburg
The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe (MP), will on Friday, 18 June 2021, embark on an official Ministerial outreach programme in Middleburg, Mpumalanga Province. The Minister will officially open and handover a Healthcare Centre to the Rockdale Community. The Rockdale Community Healthcare Centre is part of Seriti Power Social Labour Plan (SLP). Social Labour Plans (SLPs) are implemented to ensure that holders of mining and production rights contribute towards the socio-economic development of the areas in which they operate in as well as the areas from which most of their workforce is sourced.
The Minister will further inspect the Electrification Project in the community. 493 houses in Rockdale North have been electrified and funded by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) through the Integrated National Electrification Programme (INEP). The INEP is aimed at actively contributing towards sustainable development and economic growth through universal access to electrification in the country. Minister is expected to be joined by members of the Mpumalanga Provincial Executive, Local and District Mayors, Senior Officials of the DMRE and Seriti Power Senior Managers.
