Summit on Gender Responsive Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring and Evaluation and Auditing

The Minister of Women, Bathabile Dlamini together with representatives of the UN for Women, National Treasury, Public Service and Administration, Performance Monitoring and Evaluation and the National Planning Commission will host a Summit on Gender Responsive Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring and Evaluation and Auditing (GRPBMEA) at Birchwood Hotel in Kempton Park from 29-30 November 2018.

The summit will be attended by members of the national executive, international and local policy experts, Chapter 9 institutions, the Southern African Development Community, international development partners and community leaders who will deliberate on various aspects of mainstreaming gendered consciousness into institutional budgeting processes.

The main objectives of the Summit is:

  • To examine the manner in which GRPB can contribute towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and National Development Plan (NDP) goals;
  • To obtain inputs and develop a common approach to GRPBMEA in South Africa across a wide range of stakeholders, including government, non-governmental organizations and civil society and
  • To develop a comprehensive and sustainable model for GRPBMEA in South Africa
