Minister Motshekga to launch SGB elections and witness signing of significant MoU
The Minister of Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga will on Monday 01 March usher in the 2021 SGB Election cycle with a visit to Abram Hlophe Primary School in Katlehong.
The SGB elections are the largest election process outside of the Local Government Elections and take place in all public schools across the country. The importance of this structure in our schools emanates from the important role parents and communities need to play in the education of their children.
In addition the Minister will witness the signing of MOU’s between the Competition Commission and SGB Associations which are a culmination of years of investigations and advocacy following complaints received from parents who were forced to buy school uniform from exclusive selected suppliers.
