Minister and MEC to host a seminar and the 3rd National Extension and Advisory Services awards ceremony

The Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Ms Thoko Didiza, together with the Limpopo MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Ms Nandi Ndalane will host a one day seminar on National Extension and Advisory Services and Awards ceremony at Bolivia Lodge in Limpopo on 15 November 2019.

The purpose of the seminar is to share best practices and set a new bilateral agenda on extension and technology transfer and to share experiences on the commercialisation of smallholder farmers to increase access to market and skills through training.

The awards, which be held under the theme “Extension and Advisory Services towards transformation of agriculture” will promote and create awareness about the imperative role the Extension and Advisory Services (EAS) play in the entire agricultural, forestry and fisheries’ development. Furthermore, the awards will highlight the contribution of EAS in attaining some of the targets contained in the National Development Plan of contributing significantly to the reduction of unemployment.

Categories of the awards will be as follows:

Top performer in the category of Agricultural Advisors, Top performer in the category of Senior Agricultural Advisors, Top performer in the category of Specialist Agricultural Advisors, Top performer in the category of Supervisor, Top performer in the category of Support Services and Overall winner.

Time: 17:30 for 18:00
