Minister and Deputy Minister of communications to conduct Pre-SONA community mobilisation activations in Cape Town

The Minister and Deputy Minister of Communications, Ms Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams and Ms Pinky Kekana, will, on 7 February 2019, lead community mobilisation activitations in the City of Cape Town.

The activations are held to engage communities and provide pertinent information building upto the State of the Nation Address (SoNA), which will be delivered by President Cyril Ramaphosa on the same day at 19:00. The address

The SoNA is delivered to a joint sitting of the two houses of Parliament. Accordingly, the President will set the tone on critical matters and report back to South Africans on the progress since his last address. He will also provide an update on the implementation of the Programme of Action based on the National Development Plan.

The 2019 SoNA will be delivered within the context of the current strides made by government to respond to the various challenges facing the country. The address also takes place on the cusp of the country celebrating 25 years of freedom and democracy.
