Mineral Resources and Energy hosts 12th Africa Energy Indaba Conference in Cape Town, 3 to 4 Mar

The 12th Africa Energy Indaba Conference, taking place on 3 – 4 March 2020 in Cape Town, under the theme: Catalysing investment and business opportunities in the African Energy Sector  will discuss, debate and seek solutions to enable adequate energy generation across Africa.

The conference provides a stage for energy industry leaders, dignitaries, entrepreneurs, businessmen, government heads, professional experts and investors to explore and identify core challenges and propose feasible long-term solutions to stay competitive with global energy ventures in this dynamic landscape.

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy will participate at the main conference of the Africa Energy Indaba’s opening high level session, as well as various conference panels including an IRP specific discussion.

And also host the Women in Energy and Youth in Energy Workshops on the side-lines of the conference. The Women in Energy workshop, will cover topics such as the Energy Sector Entrepreneurs support programmes; Procurement, Bidding, Pricing processes; business opportunities in the energy sector; and proposals with regards the mainstreaming of gender in the energy sector.

The Youth in Energy workshop will cover topics including Support that is available to young people in the Energy and Mining Sectors; Opportunities in the power sector in South Africa – a perspective from the IRP 2019; and Upstream sector opportunities in Africa with special reference to South Africa.
