Media briefing to release the preliminary Easter Road Safety report

Transport Minister, Dr. Bonginkosi Blade Nzimande, will be releasing the preliminary report on the 2019 Easter Road Safety Campaign on Thursday, 02 May 2019 at the Government Communication Information Systems (GCIS) offices at 13h00.

The initial proposed time was 10h30 and it is now rescheduled to take place at 13h00 due to other equally pressing commitments in the morning.

Members who intend to set-up for live broadcast are advised to arrive on time to setup.

The Minister’s preliminary report will give an overview of joint multi-faceted law enforcement, education and awareness operations undertaken over the Easter period throughout the country and a comparison and analysis of the successes and shortcomings of the campaign.

Minister Nzimande will be joined during the briefing by the MECs for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison as well as authorities and officials responsible for road safety, traffic and law enforcement in the country.
