MEC Tertuis Simmers visits Cape Winelands Municipalities, 28 Sept

Tomorrow, 28 September 2020, Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements, Tertuis Simmers will commence with his visit to the Municipalities across the Cape Winelands District.

Accompanied by his senior executive officials, Minister Simmers will kick-off the engagement in Tulbagh with the Witzenberg Municipality, where they will meet the executive Mayor, along with the MAYCO members and councillors. This will be followed by an engagement with the Langeberg Municipality in Robertson.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, similar engagements will also occur in the Drakenstein, Breede Valley and Stellenbosch Municipalities.

Minister Simmers said: “I’m looking forward to these engagements, as similar to other District visits, it will allow us to present the Western Cape Department of Human Settlements’ funding model and processes. This is critical, as we want to ensure all council members and those following on Facebook, have a clear understanding of our processes.”

Due to adherence to the COVID-19 regulations, particularly in keeping with social distancing, the various engagements can be followed on Minister Simmers’ Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/HumanMinWC

I’m also excited about the opportunity to handover houses at our Vlakkeland project in Paarl, while also visiting other projects that are currently underway.”
