Minister Simmers to host National Minister of Human Settlements over two days in Western Cape
On Tuesday, 18 and Wednesday, 19 January 2022, Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements Tertuis Simmers, will host the National Minister and Deputy Minister of Human Settlements, Ms Mmamoloko Kubayi and Ms Pamela Tshwete, respectively, where they’ll embark on a two-day visit in the province.
The engagement which will cover parts of the Garden Route District and the City of Cape Town, will amongst others include presentations by relevant senior provincial and municipal officials to the executive. Project sites will be visited to ascertain progress and in some instances title deeds will be handed over. Bricklaying ceremonies of new projects will also be conducted.
Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements, Tertuis Simmers said: “I am looking forward to welcoming both the National Minister and her deputy to our province, so that we can showcase how we’re addressing the housing needs of our people. We will particularly use this engagement to present some of our plans around creating more affordable housing opportunities for the people of our province, and how the national department can assist in accelerating our programme.”
