MEC Fritz upskills Cape Flats youth
Tomorrow, the MEC of Social Development in the Western Cape, Albert Fritz, will be hosting a leadership training day for the 78 young people from the Cape Flats, who have been placed as interns on the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).
The internships are facilitated through the Western Cape DSD's Cape Youth @Work Program which aims to upskill young people. Additional funding was received for this through the recent budget adjustments. Included in this increase is the allocation of R1.45 million for youth programmes.
