MEC Debbie Schäfer visits Western Cape NSC examination vault, 16 Oct

Minister Schäfer to visit NSC examination vault

MEC Schäferr will be visiting the WCED NSC examination vault where thousands of examination scripts are kept under lock and key ahead of the 2019 NSC examinations.

Ensuring the integrity of the examinations is of utmost importance to us. The securing of the examination papers is extremely important so that leakages or irregularities are prevented.

Between the 15th of October till the 28th of November – 101 examination papers will be written. Each of these papers need to be printed, packaged and delivered to the relevant examination centre depending on subject written. The contents need to be protected, secured and kept confidential until the day of the scheduled exam.

Tomorrow, MEC Schäfer will be visiting the examination vault to inspect the safe keeping of the examination papers. She will also outline to media the various security measures we take to ensure that no learner will be disadvantaged in these exams.

Date: 16 October 2019
Time: 12h20
Meeting point: WCED reception area – opposite the flower sellers (Grand Central Building) – please don’t be late as we will be escorting media to the undisclosed location.
