Premier Stanley Mathabatha leads delegation to People’s Republic of China, 11 to 20 Jul

Limpopo Premier leads delegation to People’s Republic of China

The Premier of Limpopo, Chupu Stanley Mathabatha will lead a Provincial delegation to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) from  11 to 20 July 2018. This endeavour is part of preparations and consultations in respect of the Musina-Makhado Special Economic Zone (SEZ) mega project.

The Department of Trade and Industry led a delegation to Beijing in April 2018 on  a trade and investment mission, this led to the signing of an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Limpopo Economic Development Agency (LEDA) and potential investors who hail from the Shanxi Province.

The Premier is scheduled to visit Shanxi, Henan and Hubei provinces in order to leverage opportunities thereof and further cement economic relations already established since the commencement of this significant joint venture. The Premier will use this opportunity to engage the Governor of Shanxi Province to visit South Africa at his earliest convenience in order to seal the MOU between Limpopo and Shanxi.

A milestone of this magnitude promises total transformation of the socio-economic outlook of the province and the developmental aspirations of its populace. It also strengthens the provinces relations with fellow BRICS member countries in future endeavours and possibilities.
