Limpopo hosts Provincial summit on Safety and Security, 28 to 29 Nov 

Limpopo Provincial Government as an umbrella for departments in the Province will host summit on Safety and Security as part of the review process of Provincial Crime Prevention Strategy.  The summit will be held in partnership with University of Venda.

Some of this summit’s objectives include; to align the strategy to new mandates and changing crime trends and patterns, ensure that the strategy put emphasis on building safe communities and ensuring that all people in the province feel and are safe in line with the National Development Plan, the new Medium Term Strategic Framework and the National Strategic Outcomes, ensure that the strategy encourages participation of communities in crime prevention and safety programmes in Limpopo, ensure maximum participation of Youth in Crime Prevention programmes by including a seventh pillar on Youth Crime Prevention to name but few.

This Safety and Security summit targets the following stakeholders who will grace it; SAPS CSF/ CPF Provincial Board, NGOs – National  Institute for Crime Prevention and Reintegration of Offenders (NICRO), South African National Council on Alcoholism (SANCA), Love Life, Representative of : SACC Women’s Forum, Pastors Forum, Human Rights Commission, Youth structures, Traditional Leaders, Traditional healers, JCPS Cluster Departments, Social Cluster Departments, District and Local Municipalities, Rural Safety Committees, Representatives of farm owners and farm workers, Recognized Women’s Formations, Recognized Men’s Formations, Moral Regeneration Movement and Students.
