Limpopo Education congratulates winner of 2017 National Spelling Bee Champion, Tshegofatso Morapedi

Limpopo learner crowned SA spelling bee champion

Tshegofatso Morapedi, a grade 6 learner from Letlotlo primary school in the Capricorn District, Polokwane is the 2017 National Spelling Bee Champion. She was crowned over the weekend, at Unisa Main Campus-Gauteng; following a series of competition from school to provincial level and ultimately competed with learners from other provinces where she emerged a National Champion speller.

Spelling Bee Competition seeks to assist learners to improve their reading and literacy so that they can read and write at expected grade levels at schools. ‘The department congratulates our star learner on this mile stone and for flying the Limpopo flag high. It’s a well deserve achievement,’ said the MEC.
