KZN Premier welcomes the decision by the President to officially recognise King Misuzulu as King of AmaZulu
The Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Sihle Zikalala, on behalf of the Provincial Government and the people of the province welcomes the decision by the President of the country His Excellency President Cyril Ramaphosa to officially recognise King MisuZulu kaZwelithini as AmaZulu King.
This long awaited decision brings down the curtain to months of uncertainty over the issue of Kingship following the untimely demise of His Majesty King Zwelithini kaBhekuZulu.
On behalf of the people of KwaZulu-Natal we want to thank the President for the dignified and the decorum manner with which he has handled the matter. This decision will bring stability and certainty regarding the Zulu throne.
The Zulu Kingdom occupies a special place within the global community because of the heroic deeds of a successions of Kings who fought valiantly for the restoration of the dignity of the African people.
We have no doubt that King MisuZulu as he has already started doing will walk in the footsteps of his forefathers by being a champion and torchbearer of unity, peace and development and ensuring that the Kingdom become a positive force to work with government to fight the social challenges facing our nation.
This is indeed a seminal moment in the history of the Zulu-Nation.
We call on everyone to accept the decision of the president and that we all unite behind the King and the entire Royal Family.
The Provincial Government throughout the process leading up to the decision has been in touch with the national government and will continue to do so leading up to the coronation
In this regard, we wish to pledge that we will continue to update the nation on every matter pertaining to enthronement of the King.
In due course after all consultation are concluded the Provincial Government will update on all matters within its line of responsibilities.
