Acting Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube hosts high-level German business delegation in Durban, 25 Nov

KZN acting Premier Dube-Ncube to host a high-level German Business Delegation in an inbound mission

KwaZulu-Natal Acting Premier, Nomusa Dube-Ncube will, today, lead a high-level local business delegation in welcoming and hosting an inbound mission of a business delegation led by Dr Nicole Heffmeister-Kraut, the Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing from Baden-Wurttemberg state in Germany.

The delegation of 40 top businessmen that include CEO’s and presidents of global business will tour various companies in Durban including Mondi, Durban Automotive Cluster and Interwaste before meeting Dube-Ncube over a cocktail reception.

The Federal State of Baden-Wurttemberg has a long-standing Twinning Agreement with the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government. Both sides have a great interest in intensifying this partnership.

The agreement has been active, with recent official visit by the Office of the Premier together with Trade and Investment in 2017 and an investment attraction mission by TIKZN in 2018.

Baden-Wurttemberg is known to be Europe’s most innovative region and the state is intertwined with global economic growth regions more than any other region in Europe. As the most prosperous region in Europe, Baden Wurttemberg has a low unemployment rate and the region is a preferred headquarter for most global companies like global automotive giants Daimler AG, Porsche, Robert Bosch GmbH and software giant SAP SE.

The region’s small companies’ model presents a valuable business linkage, replication and learning opportunity for KwaZulu-Natal economic growth.

Said Dube-Ncube: “We are very pleased to host the Baden-Wurttemberg business delegation and we are honoured to be their preferred trading partner. Our province immense economic potential and investment attraction have not gone unnoticed by global business. We are certain that long after they have left, the partnerships will last for the creation of a prosperous future,” said the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs.

For the purpose of the visit, a new partnership agreement is to be signed within the trade fair “Global Connect” taking place on 1 July 2020 in Stuttgart, Germany.
