DWS to commemorate Global Hand washing Day with Breede Valley Local Municipality

The Department of Water and Sanitation in partnership with Breede Valley Local Municipality will celebrate Global Hand Washing Day by hosting a public education awareness drive on washing hands to curb the spread of diseases and water conservation under the theme “Clean hands for all and water conservation” on Friday, 30 October 2020.

As part of the celebration, the department will also be handing out cheques and certificates to learners from Rawsonville Primary School that participated in the Baswa Le Meetse national competition hosted last year.

There will also be a door-door hand washing campaign at one of the areas in the Breede Valley Local Municipality.

Global Hand Washing Day is an annual commemoration aimed to raise awareness about the importance of washing hands as a means of good hygiene practises to curb the spread of COVID-19 and other diseases.
