Free State commemorates World Aids Day in Thaba Nchu, 30 Nov

The Premier of the Free State, Sefora Sisi Ntombela and the MEC for Health, Montseng Tsiu will lead the Provincial commemorations of World AIDS Day 2018, in Thaba Nchu, Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality, under the theme: “Chek’Impilo – Know Your Status”.

The 30th anniversary of World AIDS Day will be marked on 1 December 2018. Since 1988, the response to HIV/AIDS has been significant, and today millions of people living with HIV are leading healthy and productive lives.

The Premier concedes that more can still be done, as the latest UNAIDS report shows, that one of the challenges today is knowledge of HIV status by members of communities.

“The Free State has made significant progress in its efforts to respond to HIV & AIDS, TB and STI epidemics. The province is also on a good path towards achieving its 90 90 90 targets for HIV, and TB programming”, said the Premier.

The event will be held under the following arrangements:
