Premier Job Mokgoro welcomes PICO Production’s Mahikeng Masquerade initiative

Premier Mokgoro hails PICO Production’s Mahikeng entertainment initiative

North West Premier, Professor Job Mokgoro has warmly welcomed PICO Production’s Mahikeng Masquerade initiative, saying it will go a long way in assisting the provincial administration to achieve its vision of rebranding, repositioning and renewal of the province of Bokone Bophirima.

Mokgoro said this last night, Thursday 28 at Mmabatho Palms, while addressing a gala dinner arranged to launch the PICO Production Social Event programme.

In his address, Premier Mokgoro urged stakeholders in the public and private sectors to continue embracing the Saamwerk-Saamtrek philosophy, saying they need to come up with creative initiatives that will give meaning to this philosophy, thus advancing the good humanity demonstrated by the former President Nelson Mandela, who would have turned 100 in July this year.

Calling on all stakeholders to support social initiatives such as the one presented by PICO Production, Premier Mokgoro said there is a fundamental need for a public’s mind shift in how government is viewed, arguing that complaining about how government does things and not contributing towards making a difference will not bring us any closer to solving the socio-economic challenges.

“The initiative by PICO Production to support the community is a good one because government alone cannot solve the many challenges our people continue to face on daily basis.

As government, we must not be stuck in the 1980s way of managing societal challenges, but must move with times and support initiatives such as this one,” he said.

PICO Production is a reputable events management company involved in doing charity work in the province and many other parts of the country.

Explaining the initiative, the Founder of the company Martin Antonio said the launch was the beginning of yet another radical entertaining social programme in Mahikeng, which will happen annually.

“I am excited about the programme we will be rolling-out as from today, working with our provincial government, as its main purpose is to assist our people, particularly those who are less privileged in our townships and rural areas.

This year we dedicate our events to youth and education, while at the same time acknowledging everyone who is making a difference in our communities and award them for their efforts,” he said.

Charles Ndabeni on behalf of Bop Recording Studios, also known as BRS, expressed his excitement and said he is looking forward to a series of events that will change the outlook of Mahikeng by entertaining and creating jobs for the locals.

“We are also in partnership with PICO Production in bringing a fun filled memorable entertainment to Mahikeng, for the next five years.

We are inviting everybody to be part of these activities because there are major investment opportunities relating to the creation of jobs, enterprise development opportunities as well as the ability to drive the local economic development," he said.
