Employment and Labour's UIF takes services to the people of Tzaneen to clear COVID-19 application backlogs
The Unemployment Insurance Fund(UIF) in Limpopo will embark on taking services to the people of Tzaneen from 28 November until 01 December 2022 with the objective of clearing a backlog of outstanding applications.
Directory Beneficiary Services Vuledzani Mulindi said, “We have seen a lot of online applications which cannot be attended to due to incomplete information which needs to be addressed as there are a lot of enquiries.
Mulindi said incomplete declarations on the system are causing delays, “we urge employers to declare their employees in line with the UIF act to prevent delays as it makes it easy to process applications in case of terminations”.
The drive is not only to address the backlog of normal benefits backlog but to also review all the previous death applications that have not been addressed that emanated from COVID-19 with incomplete information.
Mulindi said clients who are called by departmental officials should not be surprised as it is not a scam. “We are urging clients to cooperate with regards to submitting additional information to assist in the finalisation of their claims.”
“Our officials remain committed to rendering effective and efficient services to our clients, especially during this difficult period of unemployment,” he said.
