Department of Employment and Labour set to host a business breakfast networking session and “Taking Services to the People” campaign in Burgersfort – Limpopo
The Department of Employment and Labour has the mammoth task of creating a conducive environment for economic growth that serves as a catalyst for job creation. Our country is currently experiencing high rate of unemployment, especially among young people.
It is against this background that the department saw an opportunity to embark on nation-wide drive to fight unemployment by engaging all affected stakeholders in both public and private sectors.
The business breakfast session which will be led by Minister TW. Nxesi, accompanied his Deputy Minister Boitumelo Moloi and departmental Director-General Thobile Lamati, will create a platform for discussions on possible strategies to fight unemployment.
Following this session, the department in partnership with Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality, will embark on a “Taking Services to the People” campaign, aimed at providing quality and instant services to members of the public.
Residents of Burgersfort and neighbouring towns are encouraged to attend. Members of the public are encouraged to bring along their relevant documents, e.g. ID copies, proof of residence, and claim reference numbers to be able to access the services.
Other government departments and state entities will also be providing their services and the following services will be rendered:
- Unemployment Insurance applications/enquiries (maternity benefit, unemployment benefit, death benefit, adoption benefit, and registration for re-training or re-skilling);
- Public Employment Services (registration of work seekers and placement);
- Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (injuries at work and disputed claims, applications/enquiries) and;
- Inspection and Enforcement Services (BCEA, EE, OHS and UIF Audits)
